A LA COMUNIDAD DE ESCALADORES
El parque de escalada Rocas de la Mojarra (PERM) es una reserva natural y zona de escalada en roca, operada y mantenida por la fundación de escaladores Rocas de la Mojarra (FELM). Tiene aproximadamente 4 hectáreas con un farallón de roca arenisca de igual longitud. Esta localizado en el departamento de Santander en una de las ramificaciones del Cañón Chicamocha a 1.602 msnm en la cordillera oriental. Su vegetación es de bosque seco Sub andino lo cual presenta una gran diversidad faunística propia de la formación vegetal de la zona.
PERM es uno de los destinos para escaladores mas populares de Colombia en la actualidad, con aproximadamente 2.000 visitantes cada año. Debido al flujo de personas visitando el parque de escalada la Fundación FELM requiere importantes recursos para mantener, operar y continuar con las mejoras en curso tales como caminos, forestación, conservación, equipamientos, seguridad (cursos, talleres y charlas), re protección, protección de nuevas vías, pago de arriendos y procesos de adjudicación y compra de predios, capacitaciones con la comunidad y desarrollo turístico.
La fundación FELM es una organización de voluntarios que opera el parque de escalada y contribuye a su desarrollo. FELM se constituyo como Fundación, como una iniciativa de los propietarios para poder donar las instalaciones del parque a una organización sin ánimo de lucro que continúe su labor y manejo en caso de ausencia. Esta organización de voluntarios seguirá proporcionando mano de obra y recaudación de fondos para ayudar a mantener el parque de escalada abierto al público. FELM pretende ofrecer a la comunidad, un parque de escalada protegido no solo para las generaciones del momento sino también para las venideras.
Por el momento PERM tiene un aporte de ingreso o una membresía anual para sus visitadores. —La idea y proyección de la Fundación es lograr un acceso gratuito para todos, — dice Ricardo Cancelado, y agrega: — que se gestionen proyectos para seguir la expansión del parque, lograr la negociación del segundo sector de la Mojarra y de los terrenos intermedios de los cuales no se ha podido lograr el paso (La Mojarra Salvaje con 20 rutas protegidas y el Hoyo de las Pavas con otras 20) terrenos que se unen con la otra zona propiedad de FELM el farallón de La Peña, zona con 24 vías de excelente calidad. Tener un parque con 1.000 rutas con este privilegiado acceso sería el sueño de cualquier escalador Colombiano. Esta ha sido nuestra visión desde el inicio, hacer que el parque de escalada Rocas de la Mojarra (PERM) esté a absoluta disposición de la comunidad a perpetuidad, siendo donado a una organización sin ánimo de lucro que siga el funcionamiento del parque en el futuro con un formato ya establecido —.

TO THE CLIMBING COMMUNITY
The Rocas de la Mojarra rock climbing park (PERM) is a nature reserve and rock climbing area, operated and maintained by the Rocas de la Mojarra rock climbers foundation (FELM). It has approximately 4 hectares with a sandstone cliff of equal length. It is located in the department of Santander in the Chicamocha Canyon at 1,602 m a.s.l. in the Eastern mountain range. Its vegetation of Andean Sub dry forest presents a great diversity of fauna and flora.
PERM is one of the most popular climber destinations in Colombia today, with approximately 2,000 visitors each year. Due to the flow of people visiting the climbing park, the FELM Foundation requires important resources to maintain, operate and continue with ongoing improvements such as roads, forestation, conservation, equipment, safety (courses, workshops and talks), re protection, protection of climbing routes, payment of leases and processes of adjudication and purchase of the climbing lands, workshops with the local community and tourist development.
The FELM Foundation is a volunteer organization that operates the climbing park and contributes to its development. FELM was created as a Foundation, as an initiative of the owners to be able to donate the park facilities to a non-profit organization . This volunteer organization will continue to provide labor and fundraising to help keep the climbing park open to the public. FELM aims to offer the community a protected climbing park not only for the generations of the moment but also for the coming generations.
At the moment PERM has a contribution of entry or an annual membership for its visitors. - The idea and projection of the Foundation is to achieve a free access for all, - says Ricardo Cancelado, and adds: - to keep doing and proposing new projects and continue the expansion of the park by buying the second sector and intermediate lands (La Mojarra Salvaje with 20 bolted routes and the Hoyo de las Pavas with another 20) lands that join with the other area owned by FELM the cliff of La Peña, area with 24 bolted routes of excellent quality. Having a climbing park with 1,000 routes with this privileged access would be the dream of any Colombian climber. This has been our vision since the beginning, to make the Rocas de la Mojarra climbing park (PERM) be at the absolute disposal of the community in perpetuity, being donated to a non-profit organization that follows the operation of the park in the future with an already established format.
